Goal

There are many different giveaways or merchandise items that companies and institutions give away. "Shäre" aims to differentiate itself from these typical items and create something more valuable. As we know, the value is not only measured by the material, but for certain things mainly by the gesture. The gesture of giving and passing on is the focus of "Shäre" and thus enables a viral Giveaway for the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.

Abstract

Shäre is a digital analog giveaway. Stories can be digitally linked to the giveaway when it is shared. This creates a kind of digital chain letter.

What makes a university special?

What defines it? The refectory? The degree programs? The buildings? No, it's the people and their stories and experiences on campus. They are the focus of the giveaway. Sharing experiences and stories creates the opportunity to identify with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.

Solution

The giveaway "Shäre" consists of an analog and a digital part. A wooden card made of six pieces forms the analog center. Each piece has a QR code. This takes the user to a web application. On this, the user can publish a short story with his location and an emotion.

The user then breaks off a piece of the card and passes on the rest. After passing it on, he has access to all the other stories linked to the map. The card and the stories linked to it go on a journey around the world and with each step it gains added value: a digitally enriched chain letter.

Stories can be posted at real locations.

To give the stories another dimension and also an additional incentive to participate, posters are displayed at various locations in the city that are also equipped with a QR code.
Anyone can scan this and will be redirected to the website. Users who have already published a story can leave their story for a limited period of time there. This makes it visible to everyone.
